About The Conference
International Conference on The Role of Social Media for Organizational Sustainability (ICROSMOS):
February 12th- 13th, 2016
Social Media today asserts a greater degree of importance in understanding of society and business. The concept of Social Media is on top of the agenda for researchers as well as business today. Decision makers, consultants, practitioners, and researchers try to identify ways in which firms can make profitable use of Social Media platforms like as YouTube, Facebook, Linked in and Twitter. Emerging from the rapid adoption of internet technologies, Social Media is bound to become more ubiquitous, as the smart phones, tablets and other mobile platforms proliferate. Social Media is therefore a field of interest to business, the public sector, the researchers and the analysts both not only as an exciting way of harnessing technology and widening participation, but also as the generator of big data .
International Conference on the Role of Social Media for Organizational Sustainability (ICROSMOS) seeks to establish a platform for researchers and practitioners with a wide range of approaches in engaging with the impact, use and potential of Social Media across various disciplines. If the defining characteristic of social media is that users create, share and respond to each other’s information, then this ICROSMOS will offer a showcase for state of the art examples. To achieve this goal, we invite researchers to present their findings and ideas, and practitioners to demonstrate real life examples. The conference committee welcomes contributions on a wide range of topics using a range of scholarly approaches including theoretical and empirical papers employing qualitative, quantitative and critical methods in various disciplines. A broad range of themes are proposed, to include the use and analysis of Social Media in areas relating to business, education and the analysis of society. The conference is being organized in association with Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), Finland and Eastern Mennonite University, USA, School of Business and Law, University of East London, UK and Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT), New Zealand
