Introduction

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) established in 1985, is now thirty years old. As with age, maturity should reflect in the working of an organization as is supposed in the life of an individual. Time is befitting that the missing dynamism be induced in the eight nations (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) so that this integration which is reported to be the most youthful, as youth make up one-fifth of South Asia’s demography, gears up and realizes its true potential by harnessing the power of youth. According to UNFPA, three South Asian countries (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) are amongst world’s ten countries with largest youth population.
